Trends reporting is available to users who have connected a practice management system to WiseTime. With Trends reports, you can gain insights into business and team trends over a period of time at a glance, according to facets such as specific users, projects and activities. You can also quickly zoom in to specific cases to view all details of time posted to that case.
Trends overview
The trend page is comprised of two sections:
1. Trend Analysis
The Trend Analysis section generates a dynamic graph showing posted time from your team, configurable to show between 6 and 24 months (1) of different data sets. The graph defaults to show a total aggregate of your team's time, but can be customised by selecting from data facets (2) that correspond to your connected system, such as team members, clients, projects and activity types (depending on your system set up).
A key (3) along the top of the graph indicates which facets have been selected, and corresponds by colour to the graph's visuals. Months are plotted along the horizontal axis (4), while total time posted is plotted along the vertical (5). You can hover (6) over a point on the graph to show more information.
2. Activity detail
The Activity detail section allows you to drill down into the granular detail that contributes to the Analysis graph. This table breaks down the total hours spent on activities according to your configured facets (eg. tags, activity types or projects). Here you can:
- Specify a time zone (1) for the data set and view UTC equivalent
- Click the title to expand any line (2) and see details of the time rows posted by your team
- Select to view the data set according to Posted Time, Tag/Ticket or Title (3)
- Export your data set (4) in various formats for use in other applications, such as Excel
- View data set to export (5)
- Please review the Exported Data section below for how to download your data set.
- Click link to view the case/matter/ticket file (6) in your connected system.
Exported Data
After you have chose to export your data set, you will need to go to the Exported Data tab. You can then choose to download your data set. Choose the button to configure the format of how you'd like to review the exported data.
Configuring trends reports using data facets
Data facets (such as Team Members, Activity Types and Cases) are listed on the left hand side of the Trends window. The facets available to you will depend on which connected system you are using, and how the data is configured with WiseTime. The report speaks the 'language' of the connection, and facets will correspond to those in your connected system.
For Clio cloud connections:
If you are connected to Clio, you can configure your reports according to the following facets:
- matters
- clients
- practice areas
- billable vs. non-billable time
